Serge Mouille
Serge Mouille (1922-1988) is a goldsmith artist trained at the School of Applied Arts, from which he graduated. In 1955, he was elected to the Society of Decorative Artists (SAD). It was then the meeting with Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand by whom it will be distributed within the Steph Simon gallery. In 1961, thanks to the Society for the Creation of Models (SCM), he was able to exhibit, at the Salon des Arts Ménager, a new collection of lighting fixtures combining fluorescence and incandescence. Its production stopped definitively in 1964
Serge Mouille remains especially famous for his lighting fixtures with simple shapes, metal uniformly painted black. Its wall reflectors, articulated on pivoting arms of varying reach, illustrate the space with a discreet but highly functional presence.
