Massimo Vignelli

Massimo Vignelli for Casigliani, Glass and travertine Dining Table, 1980

This striking dining table by Massimo Vignelli for Italian producer Casigliani is made from marble columns and glass. The three marble columns each vary in diameter, their facades systematically chipped to create a rough yet tactile surface texture. This process, upon closer inspection, rather beautifully reveals the innate structure, pattern and colour of the stone used. The refined playfulness of form and intricate manufacturing technique makes this pieces a really interesting and rare example of Vignelli’s design ethos. In excellent vintage condition.
