Georges Jouve

Georges Jouve (1910 – 1964)

After graduating from the Boulle School, he took courses at several painting academies. Directed by his family towards architecture and decoration but the war, then captivity, put an end to these projects. Having escaped, he settled, until the Liberation, in Dieulefit, an old Provençal village of potters. It is an exceptional journey that follows in terms of creativity. More than a turner, he works like a sculptor and shapes simple and generous shapes. Color and light bring a new perspective to his work. He served as a model and inspiration to an entire generation.
